HCS SB 219 -- MEDICAL RECORDS SPONSOR: Mathewson (Barry) COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Children, Families and Health by a vote of 13 to 0. This substitute allows a surviving spouse, child, parent, brother, or sister of the deceased to obtain an autopsy report upon request. The substitute also allows a personal representative or administrator of an estate of the deceased to obtain an autopsy report upon request. FISCAL NOTE: Not available at time of printing. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that surviving family members in Missouri have had problems obtaining an autopsy report. Personal representatives and administrators of estates should have access to the autopsy report (the substitute includes such persons). Testifying for the bill was Senator Mathewson. OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee. Joseph Deering, Legislative AnalystCopyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
